Who are we?

The Davis Senior High Science Olympiad Club was founded in 2019 as a Division C team in the Sacramento Region of Northern California.  Our club consists of our Blue Team and Red Team, each composed of 15 members, who have competed at regional and state competitions as well as the Aggie Invitational, the Duke Invitational, and the Golden Gate Invitational. Beginning in 2025, our club expanded our program to sponsor a Division B team for local junior high schools in the Davis area, allowing us to support and mentor younger students as they delve into Science Olympiad.

What is Science Olympiad?

Science Olympiad features a large variety of STEM-based events for middle (Division B) and high schoolers (Division C). Each team consists of up to 15 students, and students work in pairs or trios per event. The competition is made up of 23 events, which may include earth science, engineering, chemistry, biology, physics, math, or moreTeams compete at regional, state, and national levels as well as in invitationals throughout the year in events. To learn more about Science Olympiad, head over to their website at soinc.org.

How to join the Club

Our Division C competing teams are limited to DJUSD students taking classes at Davis Senior High, where we hold weekly meetings every Thursday. Junior high students for our Division B team will meet bimonthly at Davis Senior High on Mondays from 3:45 to 4:45.

If you are interested or have any questions, please reach out to us at dhssciolympiad@gmail.com. We generally form our teams around September-October, but you may still be able to compete or volunteer in our outreach events if you join at another time.
